On Aug 21st, in a 7-4 vote, City Council abdicated their responsibility and decided they don't need to hear from independent economists when using our tax dollars.

We are currently opposing the largest public tax giveaway in our City’s history. $4 billion of public funds are on the line to build an arena and entertainment district, aka Project Marvel. What would YOU use this money for?
As we ramp up for our 50th anniversary convention on October 26, we are building power for local infrastructure for our neighborhoods.
Last Thursday, City Council voted DOWN an independent economy analysis. COPS/Metro is asking, WHO benefits, and WHO pays? On September 7, COPS/Metro will bring economists to tell us the truth and elected officials who stand with us.

For 50 years, COPS/Metro Alliance has given ordinary people a powerful voice in the decisions that affect their communities. This is a nonpartisan organization of dues-paying member institutions working to improve life for families in the San Antonio region. Its members have included religious congregations, schools, civic associations, labor and professional organizations, and non-profits.
This a university of public life where people become leaders, developing the courage and skills to accomplish more than they ever thought possible. Our San Antonio team is leading by example and there will be people visiting from all over the world to see what we are doing for the people.
